Dear
Parents and Guardians:
Welcome! Parents are integral partners in the
development of their child’s educational programming. This website is designed to provide you with
current information that may be of interest.
I hope you find it helpful as we continue to work together in order to
provide a successful school experience for your child.
Participating
in the special education or Section 504 process can be confusing and stressful
at times. We always welcome any
questions you may have about special education and related services
instruction. Remember that every student
with an IEP or 504 Plan has an assigned teacher-case manager who will maintain
on-going communication with parents. In
addition, Willington is dedicated to supporting parents with many additional
resources including:
* Information
links located on the Pupil Services Home page of this website include Contacts,
Parent Resources, and Parent Information where documents such as
the Parent Guide to Special Education and the 504-Parent Rights can be found.
* A
parent friendly website resource provided by The PARENT Institute is located on the Pupil Services Home page. Click on the blue School Success: Ideas for Parents and Today’s Tips buttons to find
daily tips, articles, expert advice, a searchable data base and more!
* Our
Parent-Teacher Resource Center is dedicated to raising awareness and understanding related to the care and
education of students with disabilities.
We continue to add resources to the Center’s books and videotape
collection. The Parent-Teacher Resource Center is located
in both the Hall Memorial and Center school libraries and is open during school
hours for parents to use materials at the Center or check out materials for use
at home.
As
always, please feel free to call, email, or visit me with questions or concerns
you may have. I welcome your thoughts
and suggestions as we work together as partners in your child’s school
experience.
